HAUNTED HOUSES IN NEW ORLEANS

THE HAUNTED APARTMENT

Near the shore of Lake Pontchartrain in Old Mandeville is a set of ramshackle apartment buildings with a decidedly seaside feel. It is a close knit little community and many of the residents have lived there for years. Apartments stand in blocks of three or four; some are two bedrooms, some three. The entire place can’t be more than 20 years old.

The Beauregard-Keyes house in the New Orleans French Quarter has a reputation that is known to be very haunted.

In a house as old as the Beauregard-Keyes House, you know there'd be a ghost or two haunting it. Aside from a few run-of-the-mill vaporous presences, Orbs and sounds the Beauregard-Keyes House, located at 1113 Chartres St., claim some that one of the city's more spectacular haunting's occurs here in the early morning hours.

THE GATEWAY TO ANOTHER WORLD

A sinking feeling as the door to the anteroom off the psychic's very ordinary kitchen slammed in her face. The daughter made her way back to the living room and at first found a place to sit that was near the dining room table. Sadie had told her all about the seances that the lady conducted there. The teenage girl didn't know how she actually felt about sitting so near what amounted to an oversized Ouija board so she moved over to an uncomfortable Louis XVI settee that stood nearby.

Griffin House

Often spoken of in very hushed tones is the haunting of Griffin House. This grand home was originally built by Adam Griffin in 1852, and as the ghost tale goes, it was abandoned by Griffin after only a few months of him living there. This was the begining of the War between the States, and Griffin was said to have fleed before the Union occupation occured.

Computer technology has become indispensable to ghost hunters and anyone who investigates haunted houses. There are several software applications which help ghost hunters record and analyze EVP and video. Unlike high-end maintenance management software facility applications, these apps are relatively inexpensive but still can be used to maintain and manage ghost hunting data.
